Every one of the 376 recordings on the site and in the apps is written, played, mixed and owned by Michael Wise, trading as WiseJNRS, of Brisbane, Australia. The demos and works in progress exist nowhere else.

Audio, artwork and articles are served from cdn.wisejnrs.net. Nothing is played, cached or downloaded from Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube or any other service.
Backed by the stores' own records
The same music is on Apple Music and Spotify under the artist Michael Wise, distributed through SoundCloud for Artists. The phonographic copyright (℗) on all 17 releases is WiseJNRS or Michael Wise.
Where the same music is published
Releases go out first on SoundCloud and reach the stores through SoundCloud for Artists. The “Listen elsewhere” links on the site and in the apps go to these artist pages and nothing else.
What the apps do with other services
The WiseJNRS apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV are a native front door to this site. The boundary with other services is simple.
The apps do
- Streams Michael's recordings from cdn.wisejnrs.net
- Links out to the artist pages above (as QR codes on Apple TV)
- Searches the metadata of Michael's own catalogue: genre, tempo, key
- Shows the blog, which sometimes embeds a public YouTube video in YouTube's own player
The apps never
- Play, cache or download audio from any other service
- Import, mirror or search another service's catalogue
- Re-host anyone else's video, artwork or writing
- Sell anything but WiseJNRS merchandise, through Shopify
The formal statement
A signed declaration of ownership, with Apple Music's catalogue entry for every release and a description of how the apps touch third-party services. Three pages.
